Laboratory precision. The warmth of music. A personal pursuit of the quietest detail.

In search of
the quietest detail.
Sagittarius Audio brings together electronics, automation and a love of music. I am an electronics technician working in automation. In my daily work, I use sensitive equipment where microns matter and precision measurement is part of the routine.
I bring that experience to L100: attention to the smallest detail, careful measurements and an understanding of what happens inside the device. My aim is an amplifier with the character of a laboratory instrument and a soul of its own.
This is where I share its development: ideas, components, experiments and each stage of the build.

Bring out the quietest detail in music and let it resonate.
Laboratory precision.
A restrained form, clear markings and carefully chosen materials.
Light from darkness.
The amber, orange and red of an accretion disc.
Metal. Amber.
Precision.
A 5U enclosure, a full-width front panel and full-depth heatsinks on both sides. Two lengthwise ventilation fields leave the centre of the lid clean and solid.
Brushed metal and amber light draw on the character of laboratory instruments. The orbital emblem and the zeros in the model marking include material bridges for the planned cut-out front panel.
Concept visualisation. Screen readings, including 76% Class A headroom, are illustrative; 1.6 A is the target bias after warm-up. Proportions and markings are provisional. The manufacturing drawing and dimensions of the support bridges still need to be finalised.
Full dual mono
Separate toroidal transformers and independent sections for the two channels.
8 Exicon transistors per channel
Four N-channel and four P-channel transistors in each channel.
44,000 µF per channel
Two 22,000 µF Mundorf capacitors for each channel.
20 W Class A / 4 Ω
A per-channel design target, followed by Class AB operation. Target bias: 1.6 A per channel after warm-up, to be verified by measurement.

A 4.3-inch Riverdi display with clear operating information.
The creator’s design targets for a project in development. Final specifications will be confirmed by measurements of the completed amplifier.
